Strawberry Pie

One thing I was really looking forward to when I finished student teaching was baking.  IMG_6054I missed doing it so much.  I remember wanted to so bad, but there was no way that I would have time. Now that I’m home again, I’ve been back to doing it. It’s so fun! I recently made this strawberry pie. Strawberries are on sale for 88 cents at our store. How could I not make one?! We loved it. It was delicious! I also made one for Mike to take to work today. We’ll see how they like it :)

Anyway, in the past I made a really good berry pie with a perfect crust, IMG_6057but was never able to get the crust just right after that. I made several other pies and was really bummed at the end result because of the crust. It’s the hardest part! This time I’ve got it down! I’ve made this pie twice now, so I think I’ve mastered the crust. More pies to come! Any suggestions?

I totally need the recipe for your pie and the crust. I usually just store-buy my pie crusts, cause I'm lazy. But I've wanted to make my own. Tips? Pointers?

Hey Brooke, I use the Betty Crocker Recipe. I found it online. Here's the link:

The one thing that I would suggest is to make sure you refrigerate it before you roll it out (like the directions say). I tried to put it in the freezer to speed up the process and it just makes the dough unmanageable. So be patient and wait the 45 minutes :)

Let me know how it comes out!
