Halloween in Tucson

This year, we went to Tucson to spend Halloween with our cousins. We had a blast!!! Max loved trick or treating... he figured out that walking to a door meant more candy and he was lovin it. He had his first sucker and at lots (too much) candy! Afterwards, Justin and Sheilia made a delicious dinner and then we watched a scary movie! Thanks Justin and Sheilia. We had so much fun and can't wait to see you guys again!

Things have been so crazy/busy/hectic/stressful.

Just a little background… Mike and I have both been doubling up our classes for the last couple of months. I’ve been working 2 hrs each night and Mike has been working his normal 8 hour days. All of this along with making sure Max is happy and well taken care of has been really exhausting.

We’ve forgotten about dinner about 3 times in the past couple of weeks and even went to bed without it once. Our clean laundry has been sitting in a huge pile in our room for I don’t know how long.

I think sometimes I forget why we are doing all of this and I get frustrated and I feel like I just want to give up. Mike can always tell when I’m feeling this way and he will always almost immediately begin telling me how nice the apartment looks when he gets home (even when it’s a total mess),  and how beautiful I look (even when I hadn’t even had time to shower that day), and how delicious our top ramen dinner was.

Then I remember that I’m married to the most wonderful man in the world.

I had an interview on Thursday for a job as a transcriptionist. A few hours later, I got a phone call with an offer for the position. After a really long and busy day, I came home to these:

It just made it all worth it. How did he know that these would mean the world to me that day? I’m not even a big flower person, but somehow these almost brought me to tears.

Sleepy Head

Max was so tired the other day that he didn’t even wake up when I changed his diaper. I just thought it was kind of funny!

Max is going to be Max for Halloween! Well, hopefully. The only place I found this costume was on ebay and it was way over priced as costumes usually are. The only other way for this to happen is if I make it myself!

I was fine with the idea before I started doubling up my classes, but on top of school, work, being a mommy, and everything else, I went back and forth with whether or not I wanted to commit myself to something more. BUT Soin assured me that she would help make it and that we would get it done! So we bought the materials and started working on it.

Last year we made his costume and it didn't turn out too bad....

This one is a little more complicated but hopefully we can pull it off!

Max’s New Pad

Feeling good...

On Thursday I got two of my wisdom teeth out. They gave me hydrocodone. I can see why people get addicted to drugs... I'm really lucky I don't have an addictive personality. About 10 minutes after I take it, I start feeling good. Not only does the pain go away, but I suddenly get in a better mood. I also get light headed and dizzy. Then I get really sleepy... it's so trippy.

Anyway, I can't wait for my mouth to heal so I can eat some real food. I think I've lost 2 lbs since Thursday... and yes, I have a puffy cheek. I'm done... ready to be better. I have to say though... I will miss the hydrocodone.... haha I'm totally kidding! :) Enjoy this picture of me in my highness with a chipmunk cheek.

He’s Walking!

 

Before I begin... Please excuse our messy apartment. Max is really good at making messes wherever he goes. So he’s been walking for about a week now but he’s getting pretty good. Now he even stands up on his own and bends over to pick things up. He was a really fast crawler. Everyone would say, “wow, he’s so fast!” Well he’s a fast walker too!

I also have to mention that the other day he opened the front door and walked right out! It's no wonder people keep telling me I have to be careful now. Geesh! My baby is growing so fast :,(

Grand Canyon

We went camping at the Grand Canyon last weekend and it was a blast. Max had a lot of fun playing in the dirt... and practicing his walking skills… yes I said WALKING!

Daddy built a fire for and we had oatmeal and donuts for breakfast. Max enjoyed climbing the trees and flying in the air. The Canyon was beautiful! Max had his own seat on the bus. Mommy thought it would be cool to climb out on this rock so Daddy could take a picture. At night we had smores and hot chocolate. Max hag fun getting really dirty. On our way home, we stopped to see the meteor crater. Max was the only brave one to go down into the crater. The ride home was kind of boring but we entertained ourselves by taking a bunch of pictures.
