Watson Lake

We had a busy Saturday working on school assignments and doing stuff around the house. We finished almost everything and decided to take a break and go relax at Watson Lake in Prescott. It was really fun walking around the rocks and enjoying the view. Max loved throwing rocks into the water (or trying to at least). It’s so nice when we can just pick up and leave at the spur of the moment. We’ve just been sooo busy with school and work that we don’t have much time together as a family. Saturday was really nice. We will definitely be going back sometime. Cousins!

Max and I were able to hang out with our cousins on Saturday (Mike was in Cali). We always love hanging out with them!!! Max and Stephen are so cute together! They are getting so big!

Velasco Reunion

Last weekend we were able to go to our family reunion. It was really nice seeing everyone. I wish I had more pictures, but I didn’t take my camera. I only had my phone. Max enjoyed spending time with grandpa.

We moved!

…. about two hundred feet away. Soin moved out on her own :( (we really are happy for you Soin!) so we down sized back to a 2 bedroom. This is how we moved most of our stuff… yes, it’s embarrassing but it was really effective. Mike found a basket on the side of the road and we figured we would do Costco a favor by taking their basket back to their store… after we used it to move of course.

I think I would have rather loaded everything onto a truck and then unloaded it. It was a hassle walking back forth from one apartment to the other and loading and unloading about 50 times. It was exhausting, especially doing it in this heat. It's done and over now!! Thank goodness. Hopefully the next time we will be moving, it will be back to California.

Moving basket

Bath Time!!!

Isn’t this adorable?

I came out from my cave of school work for a break and found my boys napping together. I would have grabbed Max right away, since as you can see, he was right at the end of the couch, but instead I put down pillows just in case he fell. He was just too cute to move!!!

He did end up rolling off but only to land on a soft bed of pillows. He sat up for a second, and then laid down and went back to sleep. So silly!

More Deals

The first two pictures are some more freebies that I have come across in the past couple of weeks… The first group is from CVS and the second is from Kmart.

IMG_4557IMG_4590

Honey Bunches of Oats is my favorite cereal so we stocked up when I found this great deal of .48 per box at Fry’s. Fry’s is our local grocery store (for those of you from Cali)

I love couponing. It's definitely one of the best things I've ever learned to do. Even if I become wealthy, I think I will still use coupons. I just don't like the thought of paying full price for things anymore... :P

By the way, if anyone wants to know how I got these deals, just let me know and next time I will post how.

Monster Jam

I’m slacking! Sorry Liz...

Anyway, I think I mentioned in a previous post that I got Mike Monster Jam tickets for our anniversary (which didn’t even compare to everything he did for me). We went and it was so fun! I had never been before and honestly, I was thinking that I wasn’t going to be that into it, but it was really exciting and such a blast. Mike really enjoyed it too. I love going on dates with him! Our favorite was Grave Digger!

I Don't Live in a Mansion.

Mike and I are awake at about 2am... probably not a good idea, being that Max will probably be up in four hours... ah well.

I had to finish an assignment for class and then we looked online at tons of $15,000,000 and $50,000,000 homes in Rancho Santa Fe. It was fun seeing all of these ridiculously gorgeous houses and their acres of land, gigantic pools with fountains, and bathrooms that are bigger than our apartment.

Surprisingly, it got me thinking about how much I love my life in our little apartment with our community pool and our bathroom barely big enough for the two of us. Don't get me wrong, I look forward to the day when we can have our own home, but all I ever really dreamed of was being a wife to a loving, righteous husband, and a stay-at-home mother to my children. This is what I wanted to be when I grew up. Now I'm grown up and I have it all.

A $50,000,000 home on the beach doesn't compare to what I have. I have an amazing man to call my own; a man who charishes me and loves me for who I am, a man who everyday strives to provide our family with a good life because he loves us, a virtuous man who is a wonderful example to me and so many other people. I have a beautiful son; a piece of my heart and soul, a pure spirit who helps me strive to be a better person, a boy who loves me unconditionally, an angel with eyes that tell me everyday that he loves me.

What a dream come true it has been... life is wonderful.

I haven't even mentioned all of the materials things that I am blessed with... no, I don't live in a multi-million dollar home but I have things that most of the world's population only dream of having; a roof over my head, good food to eat, a car to drive whenever I want, a cell phone, a computer, a refrigerator, disposable diapers for my baby, and the list goes on and on and on.

One day my dream-come-true life will move into a house to call our own. Where and when that may be doesn't really matter as long as we're together.

Almost walking…

Okay so maybe this isn’t national video day but we HAD to put this on tonight because we’re so proud! Our good friends, Abe and Loni gave Max this cool toy about an hour ago and he already loves it. I think he will be walking soon!

I have a confession…

I think I’m addicted… to getting free stuff! No seriously, I think I really am. Even if it’s something that I don’t use or need and it’s free, I just have to have it! And then, after I look at my receipt, I get this high that makes me want to keep doing it!!! Ahhh! What am I to do?! Like the other day, I got 30 Amp energy drinks for free. We don’t drink energy drinks unless we’re on a road trip but I had to get them. Anyone want some?

I just have to say that I absolutely LOVE CVS. I get a lot of my free stuff there. The last 3 weeks they’ve been having school supplies deals. Here’s all of the free school supplies that I’ve gotten there (this doesn’t include all of the other freebies I got at cvs). I also got these 3 boxes of Kashi cereal for 50 cents. Amazing… I love it. I can’t stop…. IMG_4480IMG_4485

Max’s new things

Max has started doing a lot of new things. Here’s a video of some of them. Some of you might remember the video I posted of him copying me stick out my tongue when he was just a few weeks old. He stopped doing it soon after and just started doing in again a few weeks ago. He also sighs when I sigh, grunts when I grunt, laughs when I laugh, screams when I scream,  smacks when I smack, waves hi and bye bye, and says “oooooh!” He’s so dang cute and I just love him so much!!!

Yummy Stuff

I love trying new, easy recipes. I like making things that taste really good but don’t have a lot of ingredients (so please, if you have any, throw them my way!). I always gauge how good my meals come out by Mike and Soin’s reaction. If you want the recipes, let me know.

Happy as Ever at 3 Years

Mike took me to the Compass Restaurant on top of the Hyatt for our Anniversary. It was amazing.  It actually rotates so we had an great view of Phoenix. It was also a little stormy so we also had a cool view of some lightening.

The service was a awesome. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect. I loved it! To top it all off, we stayed there that night. Thank you for a wonderful Anniversary, My Love.

You are everything I could ask for in a husband and more. I love you more than you could ever know.

Arizona?

When I think of Arizona I think of hot, dry weather, cactus, rocks, and bad drivers…

Yesterday we found out that there are beautiful places in Arizona! Okay, maybe we already knew that but we had never actually seen them. Today we did!

We drove an hour and a half to Payson and enjoyed a short hike along a small river. It was beautiful; well worth the drive (even though the drivers were the same :p). Especially on a hot hot day in Phoenix. We will return to this wonderful place, that’s for sure!

Night Swim

For those of you non-Zonies, it is now 100 degrees at 9pm out here. So we are taking advantage of the pool at all hours. Here are a few pictures of our nightly adventures:                    IMG_4255 IMG_4262 IMG_4263IMG_4266

4th of July trip

Mike, Max, Soin, and I headed out to San Diego for the 4th of July weekend. We had a lot of fun with the family. We got there on Thursday and went to the Del Mar Fair. Friday we went to the beach. Max loved it! On Saturday night we went to watch fireworks in Poway. Max had a great time with his grandma and grandpa and aunts and uncle!

Kind of a Funny Story

My Mom came to help out with Max for a few weeks while I doubled up a couple of my classes. So she, Soin, Max, Mike, and I went to the mall. We were all getting hungry (especially Mike).

While my mom was in her last store, Mike was waiting outside and he told me not to show my mom the merry-go-round because she’s gonna want Max to ride it. He was hungry and wanted to get out of there to get some food! I, being pretty sure that I knew my mom better than him, said “no, she won’t.” Anyway, we happened to walk past it on our way out and as soon as my mom spotted it, her eyes lit up and she said, “oooh! Let’s take Max on that!” This was so funny to me because somehow, Mike already knew… and I didn’t!

I'll miss you M.J....

I feel sad today... although it hasn't really hit me yet.
I grew up with his music and I've always loved him.
I'm really going to miss him.

Our Water Baby

Gramma Pat sent Max some swim diapers that she made herself. We took a few pictures of him in them. They are perfect!

Max seriously LOVES the water! I’m so glad. Swim lessons are going well. We’re at the point where he is pretty comfortable going under water. Next step: floats!

Max’s and his walker…

Grandmother bought Max a walker and he LOVES it! He’s really good at maneuvering in that thing! Thank you Grandmother!

On Friday, Kelli, Myranda, and I took Mia, Sophia, and Max to Splash Park in Tempe. It was tons of fun. Max loves his lady friends!

Diamondbacks Vs. Padres

Last week we took the metro link downtown to watch the Diamondbacks-Padres game. Of course the Padres dominated! :) It was really fun! Max had fun watching the game too but really liked the lights and music most of all.
